Wall of Arms is the Second studio album by the English indie band The Maccabees, set for release on May 4, 2009. The album will be preceded by the single "Love You Better" on April 27. The LP was produced by Markus Dravs, who has collaborated with Bjork, Arcade Fire and Coldplay in the past. 'Wall Of Arms' was also worked on in various cities including Liverpool and Paris, unlike their first longplayer which was recorded in "dribs and drabs" says frontman Orlando Weeks.

I really enjoyed Colour It In (2007). I'd hardly call them "landfill indie." But I'm a bit worried about the Arcade Fire connection. I could do without another band that sounds like AF. I hope the Guardian reviewer is right and they retain their own sound. Not sure what I think about the single on first play.

So, no one's interested in this? I think "No Kind Words" rivals The Horrors' "Sea Within A Sea" for moody contemporary postpunk epicness.

Hmm, loved Wall of Arms. This looks to be much bigger. But in a Simple Minds / Coldplay way. I don't know what to think.

They've broken up, apparently. After 14 years, apparently. For some reason people keep telling me this, and I really could not give the slightest fuck.
