i think that "the fall of the star high school running back" is every bit as good as the "the best ever death metal band out of denton"

the fact that one is one of the most canonical goatz songs is due to the fact that indie rockers like death metal more than american football.

i think fall of the high school running back might have been the first mountain goats song i heard (or at least the first one i paid attention to) - giving ends to your friends and it felt stupendous - so great.

"Golden Boy" is the only song I'm familiar with, really. Super love it. I've also got a copy of The Sunset Tree, which I listened to a few months ago and was quite good, but I'm not v familiar with any of it.

Dude should write more novelty songs about food, imo.
