A Camp: Colonia

Has anyone else given this a listen? Seemed a bit disappointing at first since I'm a big fan of the first one in it's weird lo-fi hodgepodge approach, cobbled together by Linkhouse. He didn't work on this one and it's more of a band record, a bit slicker, maybe more like the last Cardigans album than the first A Camp record....but, it has some undeniably good tunes on it.

I love 'Here Are Many Wild Animals' and 'Love Has Left The Room', those are top notch

I still haven't heard the first A Camp record. I agree this is definitely in the vein of the last Cardigans record, but it's interesting to hear the differences. There's something that just absolutely pulls me in with their last two records, when they jettisoned flashy production for stripped down generic country & rock, but still with this weird knowing edge to the sound, they just became this perfect, perfect thing, I really surprised myself how often I listened to those last two records

So this new record still has the same level of songwriting but the knowing edge is gone in the production, so... if I'd heard this before the last two records I wouldn't have been converted. But the fact that it does have a distinct feel is cool, it's good to hear her on her own.
