My Bloody Valentine "To Here Knows When" / Dead Can Dance "Ariadne" / Alphaville "Fallen Angel" / Chameleons "Up the Down Escalator" ----Grouped these together, because I wanted to do an OPO of these four bands without taking up too much scroll space on the main screen. 4 great songs though.

Fair enough... MY BLOODY VALENTINE - "Only Shallow", Dead Can Dance - "The Ubiquotous Mr.Lovegrove", Alphaville - "Big in Japan" and I don't really dig the Chameleons, so pass on them.

I only really know MBV, to which I'll say "When You Sleep".

And I think you mean "POO!", sir.

Sorry, Keiko. I know your fondness for the more witty acronym. I did, though, just post a response in the recent Kylie C or D subject with your beloved POO! in full effect.

I think Tim designed this specifically to get my reaction. ;-)

MBV -- oh, GIVE A GUESS. ;-)

DCD -- "The Host of Seraphim"

Alphaville -- both mixes of "Forever Young"

Chameleons -- too many choices, can't say, won't say

No, Ned, I created the subject to get the reaction of Momus. :) Just wanted to see what anybody thought (though if Momus answers, that's cool enough ((Long live "The Penis Song")). A post from Andy Kellman turned me onto The Chameleons. Script of the Bridge is definitely a good starting point for any newcomer to The Chameleons, and I can't think of a better song than "Up the Down Escalator." Anyone else have any favorites from MBV, DCD, Alphaville, or The Chameleons? Please don't feel as if you have to pick a favorite song by each artist...

Sorry, Ned. Andy posted a response many months ago telling me to start with Script of the Bridge. Having previously purchased Strange Times many many years ago... I finally followed Andy's advice and purchased Script of the Bridge... AND I must say that "Up The Down Escalator" more than makes Script of the Bridge the Chameleons album to start with.

My favorite Chameleons song is quite possibly "Perfume Garden" from their second album, but there are sooooo many great ones. I think "Up the Down Escalator" is definitely the first one that grabs you from their debut, but I've grown to venerate the one that goes "Maaaaan ooooof sssssteel" perhaps even more. Hmmm, MBV? Too tough to call - let's say track 8 from Loveless ftsoa.
