I'd like to hear that Lord Tracy album again. I recall it being kinda cut and pastey, a big surprise amongst my brother's constant rotation of Winger and Tesla. Was utterly obsessed with finding Von Lmo until I heard a record he/they did in the 1990s (was I dreaming this?). Still haven't heard Saint Vitus though not for lack of trying. Still trying to find out the value of my copy of the Lucifer's Friend album mispressed with Neu! music on it.

Hmmmm. I guess I'll go for Motorhead here to make up for snubbing Orgasmatron earlier.

Seeing Shaken 'n' Stirred in the book always amused me (love "Too Loud' and "Sixes and Sevens").

Nope, you weren't: Cosmic Interception, 1994, Variant Records. Actually sounded more listenable than Future Language to me when I played my copies back to back a couple months ago. But of course FL is still the truly mythical one. (Label on my CD copy of that, which may well be of dubious legality, is listed as flemishmasters.org.)

Definitely lots of records -- like, way more than half of them -- on this list I haven't heard, or even seen, in a long long time. Never "saw" the Randy Holden or Dragonfly in the first place; they'd been home-taped by other people. My gut says go with MX-80's debut (which I've got on CD), so I what the heck. Though I might switch the vote to Celibate Rifles if I ever find a copy of that again someday.

Oh wait, there's two MX-80 LPs up there, I just noticed. Guess I'll have to flip a coin.

xhuxk, Monday, 11 May 2009 13:37 (seventeen years ago)

whoa, i've only heard eleven of these (just counted). guess i'll go with Kiss then. (btw, somebody ought to make an mp3 blog project outta the book(s) dammit.)

The Husker Du, Celibate Rifles, Dictators, and Died Pretty have all been my favorite record at one time or another. I always look for the Accursed when I'm in a punk store, but I never see them.

Kevin, you can get St Vitus on iTunes. Wasn't as awesome as I remembered, but I'm not 15 and stoned anymore but that's my fault not St. Vitus's.

Can I just vote for all the bands beginning with M? Meat Puppets, Metallica, The Move, Minor Threat, Motorhead, Music Machine & Mountain? (never heard the MX-80 or Ministry)
