Will our children and grandchildren know the genius of innovators like [overpraised Pitchfork-approved experimental pop/rock band] or [overpraised Pitchfork-approved experimental psych/folk band] or [overpraised Pitchfork approved socially conscious hip hop fellow]...?

Pitchfork actually tends to dis Kweli. It's part of their Backpacker Hip-Hop Criticizes Mainstream Hip-Hop, Which We Like Now, So Fuck Them policy, est. 2006

Seems like Radiohead is the only one of the three that's already a sure thing (just in terms of critical literature and canonical inclusion they've already experienced).

No one's going to care about Animal Collective in ten years..... hell, four years.

I don't know a thing about Talib Kweil, so can't speak on that. I'm voting Radiohead.

If I'm not mistaken, these three names were taken from an online article some college kid wrote about bad pop singles. These three artists were held up as examples of "good" music that doesn't get the reckognition it deserves. The article was loudly derided on one of the other threads here (can't find it now).

that said, that clip above is pretty great I think.

Did ya see Talib Kweli with 2 of the Beastie Boys on 30 Rock? They were doing the rap part of the kidney song sung by Mary J Blige, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow and others. Kinda funny
