they seemed pretty confident on beats in space that they could turn their following into success if they got together with a bigger label. "we love working with WEWW, but it's a bit like playing badminton with yourself. knock it out there... and that's it"

daniel merriweather post pavillion (haitch), Monday, 22 June 2009 02:20 (sixteen years ago)

they sounded good today at The Bell House but set was so short. It was over just as it seemed to be getting juicy. Overall a good time, though. And - on a side note - I have not seen so much goofy, elbows-out-and-flapping-like-a-chicken style dancing by random dudes on a dancefloor as I witnessed today. Wow.

The "Futures" remix deserves some love-- it is excellent.

Do these guys play L.A. much?

sciolism, Monday, 22 June 2009 11:51 (sixteen years ago)

I've only managed to get hold of three of those mixes, and I'd been trying to buy everything with the rub n tug name on it.

these strawmen do exist outside my brain (I am using your worlds), Monday, 22 June 2009 12:37 (sixteen years ago)

four months pass...

have they done an edit/remix of this yet?

scott seward, Saturday, 31 October 2009 00:59 (sixteen years ago)

so how are their dj mixes? campfire, fabric 30?

lucas pine, Sunday, 1 November 2009 07:44 (sixteen years ago)

both great. campfire is rough and in-the-red noisy, fabric one is more streamlined but has great trax. i think they admitted on the fabric site that they picked the tracklist and got a computer to mix it! also try the beats in space appearance from earlier this year.

lad: "et tu, lady?" (haitch), Sunday, 1 November 2009 13:54 (sixteen years ago)

scott, which video did you post? it's not loading for me.

jaxon, Sunday, 1 November 2009 18:46 (sixteen years ago)

I passed out this afternoon and had a dream where I was setting up to DJ a house party with somebody else but wasn't really paying much attention and just letting the CD player play and suddenly the CD player stopped and it got crowded and I was on my way to start another song when Rub-N-Tug showed up at the door and people started cheering and the bartender put on some background music and was like "yeah, Rub-N-Tug is here" and I was like "wait, it's my night to have a party here, I hadn't even started, I wasn't really djing yet, I was just about to start" and I tried to get to Eric to explain but I couldn't find him and all of sudden there were just all these people around who really wanted Rub-N-Tug to start and then the dream got really really weird.
