They were so, so integral to my teenage being. I saw them so many times, they came from all the way in Austin, Texas I think. I wrote fan letters to them. The lady from the band wrote me back and I remember in one letter, she said she thought she sounded like a Mac Truck! So humble! They were fucking brilliant and I'm going to upload the song Electra so everyone can witness the brilliance for themselves very soon. This record is the dope, sorry.
Anyway...Freight Train Rain. Why can't I find the thread where we discussed this stuff before? I know we did.

Zeitgeist were great. I'm glad someone else out there gives them love.

I remember they did a great cover of Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. Don't think I ever heard anything else.

I love em too, got all 4 albums (I remember not playing the fourth much, but the other three still hit the turntable/CD player every now and then). And I've got a live cassette around here somewhere where they do "Linus and Lucy" from the Peanuts Christmas special. I also bought Croslin's post-band solo LP but I think I didn't like it as much.

I remember Freight Train Rain! I talked about it on another thread somewhere. Someone famous needs to cover it and make these guys some money, except no-one would as it'd show up their own songs as inferior.

"Things Don't Change" is still my fave...

Yup, great song, along with "Freight Train Rain" (always sounded like Mamas and the Papas to me), "Blue Eyes," "Hill Country Theme" and "Without My Sight."Too bad they fucked up the CD reissue by adding all that crap reverb.

Yeah, "Things Don't Change" is great. Actually that whole first album is great. Prob. my all-time favorite by them is "Discontent of Winter," followed closely by "Other Side."

"Things Don't Change" is what hooked me on them. I like "Baby" from Saturday a lot too.
