Went for "Songs In The Key Of Life", but this list has a lot of really strong albums in it. DSTOM, Ziggy, Who's Next, London Calling. All fucking great!

Geir Hongro, Monday, 25 May 2009 23:49 (seventeen years ago)

Music really was better back then. These days suck, man.

Exile. Predictable, but for a reason. Where's Layla?

Maybe for megahit albums; today, albums are basically obsolete commercially. But music today is as vibrant and interesting as it was in the 70s (and that was a very good era, I think). See, e.g., the Your Top Ten Fave Singles/Albums Of This Decade thread, where the list of top-shelf discs and songs has been growing fast.

1. Gold Rush, 2. Exile.

clemenza, Tuesday, 26 May 2009 01:15 (seventeen years ago)

This one would change day to day for me. Today, Ziggy.

Eazy, Tuesday, 26 May 2009 01:16 (seventeen years ago)

This is completely impossible.

Super Cub, Tuesday, 26 May 2009 02:15 (seventeen years ago)

Where's "Rumours"?
And "Never Mind the Bollocks"? Please.

JLX, Tuesday, 26 May 2009 07:27 (seventeen years ago)

Just for the hell of it and off the top of my head, Fleetwood Mac - Rumors, Tusk, Fleetwood Mac Bob Seger - Night Moves Boston - Boston
Neil Young - Rust Never Sleeps All the better albums by Pink Floyd and Bruce Springsteen Anything by Parliament or Funkadelic Anything by Talking Heads I do like this list better than the '80s one, and I've never gone to Acclaim.net.com/music, but it's a boring and random list no matter from which you angle you approach at it from. I did vote for Who's Next. {b}dancing banana{/b}

You know what is great about "Who's Next" ?

Those dudes peed on the outside of the porta-potty.

As for all those "Where is" posts, my initial reaction was where is "Hunky Dory". The answer is at #24 btw.

Innervisions is leading this poll... really? There's maybe three great tracks on that album. I'd probably go with the boring Pink Floyd DSOTM album.

musicfanatic, Saturday, 6 June 2009 04:11 (sixteen years ago)

Boring choice, that is. The DSOTM album is great. Thought I should clarify ;)

musicfanatic, Saturday, 6 June 2009 04:11 (sixteen years ago)

yeah hurry up and vote

toadily

kornrulez6969, Saturday, 6 June 2009 06:29 (sixteen years ago)

I love all of Wonder's classic 70s albums, but I have never understood the thing about picking "Innervisions" ahead of the others. Sure, there are great songs on it, but the number of great songs is so much bigger on "Songs...", "Talking Book" and "Fulfillingness First Finale".

Geir Hongro, Sunday, 7 June 2009 12:59 (sixteen years ago)

totally rong. stevie should be where patti is, patti should be in the top 5, joni should be #1 ahead of neil & pink floyd.
