Van Halen covered it

Reggiano Jackson (gabbneb), Tuesday, 26 May 2009 21:37 (seventeen years ago)

also, it's hard rock because the fucking song invents hard rock.

fuck c0mpton (M@tt He1ges0n), Tuesday, 26 May 2009 21:39 (seventeen years ago)

"Lit Up" by Buckcherry feels like the last great hard rock song.

That Lita Ford song always feel tokenish when I watch VH1 classic rebroadcast this. It ain't no big thing. Probably because I never heard it on the radio.

It wasn't me (james k polk), Tuesday, 26 May 2009 22:04 (seventeen years ago)

Going with "Peace Sells," but why are Winger, Night Ranger and Autograph on this list???

The Darkness - "I Believe In A Thing Called Love"

I liked the Darkness but this song was shit. And not really hard rock.

Andrew W.K. - "Party Hard"

This is like making favorable note of a venereal wart.

Rainbow - "Since You Been Gone"

Rainbow didn't even write this and they weren't the only ones to make it a hit. It's a Russ Ballard evergreen. If one is going to pick a 'pop song' from Rainbow, one would go for "Can't Happen Here" or, much more likely, "Man On a Silver Mountain."

Jeezus.

how you gonna fuck around and diss "man on the silver mountain"

What Bill said.

boo

i would never want a book's autograph (M@tt He1ges0n), Thursday, 28 May 2009 23:02 (seventeen years ago)

Pointless kvetching about the VH1 list as both poll threads are now deader than dead since the polls closed: the most egregious omissions, in my opinion, are “Mississippi Queen” by Mountain, “All Right Now” by Free and “Rebel Rebel” (or “Suffragette City”, if not both) by David Bowie. Whoever was involved drawing up the VH1 list doesn’t seem to have listened to that much AOR in the Seventies or to very much classic rock radio in the present day. I didn’t see any Mott the Hoople or T-Rex on VH1 last either. I can’t believe that any of these groups are less worthy of inclusion than the Runaways, Autograph or Andrew W.K.

Do you mean ironic in the literary sense or the alanis morissette sense? (KMS), Tuesday, 2 June 2009 19:59 (sixteen years ago)

OH fuck yes the W.K. is now a triumph one yet another level.

cant go with u too many alfbrees (Abbott), Tuesday, 2 June 2009 22:32 (sixteen years ago)

Truth be told, I listened to the Andrew WK tune that won this poll on youtube and really dug it.
