where is the movie? could be a fictitous group, but the transition from 70's mothership funkers to 80's eyeliner robot dancers, has it been done before? the trials and tribulations? you could even start in the 60's if you wanted to go epic.

hell, why NOT make it about midnight star. the movie could end with the bittersweet solo success of the calloway brothers in the 90's.

The film would be a "Cadillac Records"-style biopic of SOLAR, and would have any number of sub-plots (when the Whispers became a scream, the growing friction between Babyface and The Deele, Klymaxx's adventures on the casting couch, Shalamar dancing onto a different bandwagon every week, and of course Don Cornelius towering and glowering over the entire affair)...it would be called something like Under The Sheen, and it would KILL...or flop...
