Ronan - even Gregg Alexander booster me cannot find a good word to say about this.
O-Town - fucking disgrace. Piss-poor lechfest, would shame Northern Line. come on America, boy bands is meant to be what you're good at!
Missy Elliott - awesome. Isabel's favourite single this year and mine too though "We Need A Resolution" is my favourite single RIGHT NOW. Elongated neck bit in video excellent. Missy's dancing (one move: upward rabbit-punch) also excellent. Beats DC on hook (just) tho DC have funnier lyrics.
Madge - totally forgettable. Music album continues to slide in my estimation.
Snoop Dogg - no hook at all that I can detect. Still quite good but come on Dre!
Orbital - maligned on Pop-Eye I felt, first Orbital single I've enjoyed in a while, nice'n'easy back-to-92 feel though Gothy vocals get annoying after a bit. Pete is right in nothing-funny complaint.
Hooray for the charts. What's out this week?

- My favourite part is where Missy swings from a chandelier. - Which famous person is sitting on Timbaland's lap? It looks somewhat like Beyonce but it's hard to tell on a little TV. - Missy wearing a Motorhead t-shirt and studded denim has dented her cutting-edge cool slightly in my house. As far as I know, they've even stopped selling them in Top Shop. (Does that mean it's OK again? Where are you, fashion intelligentsia?(sic?)) - The brief song after the end of the, uh, actual song - that is some seriously great stuff! Anyone aware of what I mean? Is it maybe on the CD single? It's not on the 12" and it better not be a video-only thing!
Thankyou for taking the time to read this!

that song at the end of the video is "lick shots" which will feature on the album and which is just as excellent as "get ur freak on" in my opinion.
"we need a resolution" is the least of the big three aaliyah/timbaland singles, but i don't think it deserves to be panned. it's the first of the three, though, that makes for better instrumental listening, i think, as the track itself is quite beautiful.
tim, you're totally right about the impact of the last two d.c. singles. as i've said myself, they're unimpressive on first listen -- i even dissed "survivor" after first hearing it -- but once they get their hooks in you, look out. v. much looking forward to the album.
