Must've been done before, but I don't care. I used to hate all double albums. But now I'm seriously considering giving thought to one of these mofos becoming my favourite album of all time. There are a whole load missing which I think are shite, such as The Wall.

Oh yeah, forgot Double Nickels too. That's some fine shit, especially 'Cohesion'.

Life After Death

a hoy hoy, Thursday, 11 June 2009 23:49 (sixteen years ago)

I think double albums can only be appreciated later in life, say, past the age of 26.

You're missing Double Nickels On The Dime, Something/Anything?, and Physical Graffiti. This poll can seriously go fuck itself.

Carroll Shelby Downard (Elvis Telecom), Friday, 12 June 2009 00:18 (fifteen years ago)

Though honestly, I'd probably vote for Benny Goodman's Live at Carnegie Hall

no "Bitches Brew"??!?!?!?!

pipecock, Friday, 12 June 2009 00:24 (fifteen years ago)

It's sad because we could have had nominations or something beforehand. Nothing wrong with the idea itself. Maybe the original poster can ask a mod to change the poll title to "of THESE..."

Pasta of Muppets (Noodle Vague), Friday, 12 June 2009 06:44 (fifteen years ago)

And Blonde On Blonde too of course...

From this lot I went for The Beatles since it pretty much defines what a double album should be for me; a sprawling array of different styles, experimental diversions and general oddballness.

Of this thin slice of life, Tusk. But I'm ashamed to say I've never heard the Prince or Stevie Wonder albums, except for whatever singles they produced.

unicorn poop evaluator (WmC), Friday, 12 June 2009 22:52 (fifteen years ago)
