Serked in bleach

chap, Thursday, 11 June 2009 23:44 (sixteen years ago)

Second choice is "No I don't have a gun." That he said it once is suspect; that he restated it is a thinly veiled threat.

Brundlefly (kenan), Friday, 12 June 2009 00:03 (sixteen years ago)

And I swear that I dont have a gun
No I dont have a gun

votes will be split for these 2 since they are essentially the same line of lyric

billstevejim, Friday, 12 June 2009 03:59 (sixteen years ago)

In retrospect "And I swear that I don't have a dog" is pretty much damn unbeatable (not to mention untrue...)

Geir Hongro, Friday, 12 June 2009 11:30 (sixteen years ago)

Hmm.. Dammit, gun not dog... :)

Geir Hongro, Friday, 12 June 2009 11:30 (sixteen years ago)

surely the line is 'as a known enemy'?

Today's "Where's your head at" posting is by....

Mark G, Friday, 12 June 2009 11:33 (sixteen years ago)

You missed out:

Eighties - i'm living in the eighties
Eighties - i have to push, i have to struggle
Eighties - get out of my way, i'm not for sale no more
Eighties - let's kamikaze 'til we get there

Oh, sorry, wrong song. Easy mistake to make though...

(That's one for Alex in NYC)

Guilty_Boksen, Friday, 12 June 2009 11:42 (sixteen years ago)

thought it was "syruped in bleach"

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 12 June 2009 13:29 (sixteen years ago)

The US edition of the "Lithium" CD single has all the lyrics for "Nevermind", so someone check over there? All the "lyric" sites have different renditions.

Mark G, Friday, 12 June 2009 13:36 (sixteen years ago)

I like "mud/bleach" not only because it's a nice image, but also because it reminds me of the debut (still my favourite) and, by indirect extension, Mudhoney.

I wish he hadn't adapted my critique of his "ilxor" moniker (Myonga Vön Bontee), Friday, 12 June 2009 14:35 (sixteen years ago)

hA!

you forgot the line where the joke that it sounds like "Eighties" is old, and nirvana are far from the first band ever who had a hit single with a riff that was similar (and not a rip off) to one from a 70's punk classic. it's not even a rip off.. it just contains the same notes.. big fucking deal.

billstevejim, Friday, 19 June 2009 01:07 (sixteen years ago)

the joke is that "eighties" came out in the 70s, duh

billstevejim, Friday, 19 June 2009 01:07 (sixteen years ago)

also weird that grohl drummed for both bands

billstevejim, Friday, 19 June 2009 01:10 (sixteen years ago)

the joke is that "eighties" came out in the 70s, duh

Umm, 1984, actually.

If you're referring to "Life Goes On" by the Damned, that came out in 1982

If you're talking about "Baby Come Back" by the Equals, that came out in 1968.

Alex in NYC, Friday, 19 June 2009 02:47 (sixteen years ago)

Oh yeah -- fuck Nirvana.

Alex in NYC, Friday, 19 June 2009 02:56 (sixteen years ago)

For some reason I thought writing that would be funny but it wasn't at all. My mistake.

Yeah I know it's an 80's song.

i luv nirv

billstevejim, Friday, 19 June 2009 03:59 (sixteen years ago)

was trying to make a joke out of a typo

billstevejim, Friday, 19 June 2009 04:00 (sixteen years ago)

As an OLD memory...? maybe?

ian, Friday, 19 June 2009 04:35 (sixteen years ago)

I like "mud/bleach" not only because it's a nice image, but also because it reminds me of the debut (still my favourite) and, by indirect extension, Mudhoney.

the mud bleach thing was a reference to an advertising campagne about safe needle use

split between that line and the don't have a gun line

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Friday, 19 June 2009 14:27 (sixteen years ago)
