haven't listened to this in ... decades probably. only one i couldn't remember without googling the lyrics was lounge act. i'm gonna stick it on right now.

Because just as you think "can anything follow "Smells like teen spirit", the drum intro KICKS in, and oh yessican.

First listen in decades slipped down easily. Almost too easily. Sounded like something more than a historical curio but less than a timeless classic. Of course headphones in office is different from blasting on the speakers at 11pm amidst a load of half empty vodka bottles and crushed beer cans.

I listened to this last night, as a result of this thread, it really does feel oddly quaint now. Kneejerk reaction was to go for Teen Spirit but the real shivers down the spine moment was the opening of Lithium, so went for that.

I mean, this album was definitetly a gateway drug for me, and Drain You is a great exit point onto other things.

Breed possibly comes second though for the incredible guitar texture and general momentum

Oh and the 4-beat looping basslines are awesome

Voted "On A Plain" before reading the thread, assuming it would be the most neglected of my favorite cuts. I was wrong. Probably would have voted "Lithium" had I known.....

I voted for "Polly" because I'm not as tired of it as I am of the rest of the album.

Polly's awesome, wtf? At some point or another I know some people who liked it the best.. although not since the record was considered somewhat new, but still.. Polly's a good choice, and I always like it when every song gets at least a vote.
