"Lithium" is best for ruining everyone else's evening at a gay karaoke bar.

Dr Morbius, Sunday, 21 June 2009 20:37 (fifteen years ago)

evanescence's "lithium" would probably be better for that, no?

more tang than an astronaut (bug), Sunday, 21 June 2009 20:38 (fifteen years ago)

Voted Eric Stoltz.

Territorial Pissings, because the opening sounds still make me go "yay, Hüsker Dü!" after all this time. For some reason I can remember where I was when I first heard the album and this is the exact same thing I thought way back then too.

haven't listened to this in ... decades probably. only one i couldn't remember without googling the lyrics was lounge act. i'm gonna stick it on right now.

ledge, Monday, 22 June 2009 08:39 (fifteen years ago)

IN BLOOM!

Because just as you think "can anything follow "Smells like teen spirit", the drum intro KICKS in, and oh yessican.

Mark G, Monday, 22 June 2009 08:42 (fifteen years ago)

First listen in decades slipped down easily. Almost too easily. Sounded like something more than a historical curio but less than a timeless classic. Of course headphones in office is different from blasting on the speakers at 11pm amidst a load of half empty vodka bottles and crushed beer cans.

voted lithium btw, miserablism dies hard.

ledge, Monday, 22 June 2009 09:27 (fifteen years ago)

I listened to this last night, as a result of this thread, it really does feel oddly quaint now. Kneejerk reaction was to go for Teen Spirit but the real shivers down the spine moment was the opening of Lithium, so went for that.
