I don't think we've done this before, have we? Alex in NYC has qualms with this record, but I still love it to absolute bits and no one can stop me. BTW this is the reissued original Chris Kimsey mix and I am including the two bonus track b-sides at the end because I feel like it.

"Goodbye to the Village," "Exile" and "Victory" weren't on the original LP (they're b-sides), so they're out. I'll go with "Rubicon." Not the band's finest hour, but still light years better than most of the abject piffle slavishly championed on ILM.

As I mentioned on the Night Time poll I actually have nostalgic love for this one too, being the first of their albums I ever heard...I can generally choose any of the first three tracks depending on my mood. Today it's "Chessboards" so that.

Even speaking as someone who owns somewhere in the region of 50 Killing Joke albums, CDs and 12"s, I have to say I can't find a single redeeming feature about this album.
