LOLZ hey J0hn! Good to see ya.

Given that "Eighties" was technically a single release well before the album, I'm excluding that from the running (though I adore it). As such, I'm going with "Darkness Before Dawn," but if truth be told THERE IS NOT A BAD TRACK ON THIS ALBUM.

word up bimble

a recent typo has led me to insist that you do a song-for-song cover of the manic street preachers album "the holy bible" and call it "the holy bimble" so get to work man

worm? lol (J0hn D.), Sunday, 21 June 2009 22:00 (sixteen years ago)

alex you're with me though right - what's this for & the debut both stomp this album to shreds

worm? lol (J0hn D.), Sunday, 21 June 2009 22:01 (sixteen years ago)

Night Time was my entry to KJ. It's not a seismic as the afore-cited earlier work, but it still holds a very dear place in my heart.

LOL Oh you flatter me, John, you hunk! Just kidding. ;)

Actually I haven't heard that album but I've heard it's voted the best Manics album. I'll write it down to research at a later time, maybe tonight if I can get some other stuff together. Thanks!

Oooh conflicted. Eighties is the best track, but all the rest are great.

Eighties isn't the most representative track either, but what is? Before clicking on the link to see this poll, I saw the album title and thought of love like blood first.

But we aren't voting for the most representative - the track we would be least likely to drop if we were forced at gunpoint to make a directors cut of the album and had to reduce the running time.

Indeed if I was forced to re-edit the album and had to drop a track I'd pick 80s - but its a song I really like so Im voting for it

title track

My entry point was Brighter than a Thousand Suns so I even have nostalgic love for that album but John makes an excellent point about the s/t album.

I kicked off on KJ with "Follow the Leader"

"Love like blood" suggested there was more.

So, that.

listening to this album now and I just wanted to give a shoutout to "Kings and Queens" which isn't my vote but is still dope

Damn right.

Probably a klunker for you hardcore Jokers but, 'Love Like Blood' is my pick.

OK, my mum would like it, but it's a corker

Fer Ark, Wednesday, 24 June 2009 22:19 (fifteen years ago)

a mom who likes "Love Like Blood" is a pretty cool mom IMO

Haha no kidding.

I've kindof burned out on Kings & Queens now, but I remember having it on tape before I got the album and I was obsessed with it, played it repeatedly. It was my fist-waving "I'm a teenager and you adults don't understand jack shit!" track.

I surprised myself by voting for Darkness Before Dawn, here.

A Breath of Fresh Culture (Bimble), Wednesday, 24 June 2009 23:26 (fifteen years ago)

That was my pick as well, Bimbz.

"Europe" for me. Sick of LLB to be honest, goth staple of clubs for 273462452434 years as it was and I'm over and out of that whole thing.

I'm Rick Wakeman, bitch! (Trayce), Thursday, 25 June 2009 00:22 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, that's why I can't bring myself to vote for it, either, Trayce. Haven't heard it in the clubs a lot necessarily, but yeah, been there done that and done it some more, etc.

Ha ha Alex, that's funny.

A Breath of Fresh Culture (Bimble), Thursday, 25 June 2009 02:27 (fifteen years ago)

Tough choice, but I have to go with "Love Like Blood".

KJ's finest album in my opinion.

A. Begrand, Thursday, 25 June 2009 02:40 (fifteen years ago)

i loved this album but, admittedly, haven't heard it in quite some time.

voted for "Night Time" despite thinking "Eighties" is a better song.
