I'm going with #1, given its inclusion of "Matinee" (as in I'm Fuckin' My Girl at the...) by the slavishly underrated Kraut.

#2 for "Bummer Bitch" and "Don't Worry Kyoko"

i am also going w/#2, because there are aren't many stretches of jammage i enjoy more than the nervous eaters "just head" -> detention "dead rock 'n' rollers" -> eat "communist radio"

i think my second fave might be #6...the kids, hitler ss, tampax, dirt shit, screaming urge, i mean goddamn!

Yeah, I think the story about #7 is that Byron took Marek's want list (he's the Australian collector who did #s 5 and 6) and put all the records on #7 to smack him down and restore American dominance in the scum collector world. I could be wrong, though, kbd compiler info always seems apocryphal and sketchy.

I guess Marek found a couple of the records while he was doing it since Tampax and Fire Exit are duplicated on #7

i'd like to find 13 at some point but it seems to be almost as rare as some of the stuff it comps

There's not really a point when they start sucking as after
that they're all done by different people and the numbering goes haywire.

It does seem like a lot of the ones in the teens are getting expensive - I used to pick these up for £5-10 but some of the ones I'm missing (like #13) are going for like £17 on ebay now.

I dunno, I really REALLY like the Murder Punk ones but I eventually burned & sold my Australia Bloodstains, I don't think there are any (or very few) of the same bands and I just remember it being somewhat lackluster. Good excuse to give it a listen today.

yeah i swung into a super-kbd mood and i've been rocking these nonstop pretty much for the last few weeks. think i've been underrating 9 - that tapeworm single is completely nuts, and the jetsons and hammer damage and le peste and MAN i gotta get the x blank x single at some point - it's not as prohibitively expensive as i'd feared, and the non-comped flip "1980" rules the art hell school

#4 seems kinda weak to me actually - I should qualify that - Zero Boys has been reissued elsewhere, Filth is on #77, I don't think the Subhumans belong on KBD - the wrong vibe completely, althought the song's not bad, the Huns is shit they should've used the A-side but that's on Bloodstains Across Texas, Victims is on Murder Punk, this is probably all after the fact tho, I'm sure #4 was great when it first came out

1-4 are pretty remarkable solid. tbh i have only heard scattered volumes thereafter.

that said i definitely agree that my best of's probably gonna be different from everyone else's...any suggestions that'd be helpful depend on what strains of this stuff you find most interesting (garage/r&r, scummy/trashy, art school, hardcoreish, etc., not that they're mutually exclusive)
