Could use an option "Rock and Roll is doomed and cannot/does-not-deserve to be saved".

new advances in recording technology will help true melody to be captured inside of rock and roll mp3s.

Rock and roll has already been saved by melody. It happened in 1963 already, and re-happened with Britpop in the mid 90s. :)

I'm not sure Rock'n'Roll can be "saved" in the traditional sense. It seems like the old filtering mechanisms (e.g. record companies, radio stations, magazines) are becoming obsolete, and cannot continue in their functions of introducing people to new music. The relative lack of barriers to entry involved in the new distribution systems (e.g. internet, itunes) ensures that there will always be an overwhelming glut of new music, little of which is filtered for quality before it is accessible to the public at large. With this increasing volume of content that continues to get churned out, too few external resources (e.g. people, time, magazines) for separating the wheat from the chaff will be available, and thus the public will be deluged with all kinds of crap, and the amount of time investment required to find something cool will be too much to offset the relatively meager rewards. Because of this, I think that the new Rock'n'Roll paradigm that will eventually evolve (may take a few decades) will involve people making and appreciating their own music and sharing it with people who know them, without them necessarily having grand visions of marketing/selling it to the public at large. Thus, the spirit of rock'n'roll (i.e. music for its own sake) will be saved.
