12 Rods C/D?

I love Split Personalities a whole lot and I really like the Gay? EP as well. I've heard a few from Separation Anxieties but I feel like the lyrics are a bit too goofy (even though I'm not one to pay too much attention to lyrics generally), and the melodies/songs aren't as climactic-moment-in-the-movie as they are with perfect songs like "Make-Out Music." By the way... what a hell of a song. I also have a weakness for really breezy melodies like in "Split Personality" and "I Wish You Were A Girl," so that album really does it for me.

So I'd say Split Personalities at least is a classic all the way through.

Anybody else a fan?

Yeah he really is a great drummer. Has some pretty crazy parts in a few songs.

also, perhaps not coincidentally, ryley walker's husky pants records's bandcamp page is selling 12 Rods t-shirts

n 12 Rods news....is it me or does this update have kind of a weird vibe?

The 12 Rods hiatus is over. It’s been a couple decades since a proper 12 Rods live band, not counting the 12-piece 2015 reunion show. Today Ryan has a new agreement to fulfill… A careful decision was made not to regroup any of the old members and hand select new, more relevant musicians from the Twin Cities. Aside from himself, It’s a whole new group. Fresh blood from the Minneapolis scene that most in the community has probably already heard of. Without further ado, we present to you today’s 12 Rods…

I mean, I wish the best for the guy, but I think there are a few former 12 Rods members that might care.

is this an 'original band all brought something unique' or a 'him and yer granny on bongos' deal

the original band was distinctive, not a "one dude's vision" band.

new band is hand selected, yeah, but with terrible hands
