so i listened to a couple of these songs and say that no, they don't matter. maybe a great live band if you've had a beer or two in ya, but do they matter? no.

You guys are not particularly good. Get better before you blow your load on embarrassing internet marketing, which never works anyway. Take it from someone who knows.

the opening of three card monte reminds me of early 90s urge overkill trying to learn their instruments while tape is running.

I'm out of the city on Long Island (or "Strong Island," as P.E. used to call it) this week. I was sadly not there to see it, but yesterday morning, a wicked-large shark was spotted just in the surf at our local beach. Friend took the below pic.

What do you want exactly? You just sound like a bunch of guys jamming who kind of know how to play their instruments and maybe have some ideas that have some potential. There's really not enough there to warrant detailed analysis, tbh. You're not terrible or anything, just keep practicing and developing your ideas and see where it goes. No one here is going to be able to give you any specific constructive criticism of any specific song that will be of any use, especially since your band just doesn't sound developed enough yet to even warrant that.

Prairie Spies should go back to calling themselves Sharks and set up a show with Shark Matter at Ronny's. Dennis Quaid can emcee.

i'll agree that we are still in the pupal stages at best, but we busted our asses to make the recordings and now i have lost all sense of objectivity regarding them.

update! we are happy to tell you that we'll be performing as part of the February PRF BBQ at Quenchers friday feb 4th with Blackout Dates, Transmontane, Bully Pulpit, Heavy Bombers & Nonagon. the BBQ will continue feb 5th at Metropolis Coffee with many more bands, and a chili cook off!
also our record finally got reviewed: "Shark Matter portray their sound as “tongue-bitingly restrained and self-indulgent.” Well, they’re half right. Among the seven tunes on Chum Bucket, “Times For The Changelings” is a passable jam, but the remaining numbers are all more exercises in hedonism than harmony. As for the first part of their description, there’s definitely controlled frenzy within their blues-punk performance: what’s missing is maturity. (www.sharkmatter.net)
