The spoken intro to "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" by Michael Jackson

I mean, whats the deal here? The spoken intro was part of the song back when it was a hit, lines like A lot of people misunderstand me, that's because they don't know me at all.

However, on subsequent pressings, plus the remaster and all compilations, the intro has been edited, and only a long string intro is left while Michael's voice has been removed. Anyone know what happened?

i dunno, when you record stuff and release it out into the world, it's Human Nature to want to fix them and make them better--maybe MJ was just trying to make the song better

I recall my good friend at school chopping it off my taped copy of BAD. I was amazed to find that MJ had then done likewise!

Wasn't there something about the 'deeply embarrassing' talky bit on "The girl is mine" that was excised from the single version? Or just the Radio version? or not?

the whole song was deeply embarrassing

By the time of the later pressings people knew him & understood him fairly well.

it's certainly embarrassing (e.g. "I'm a lover, not a fighter"), but it also makes it human and endearing.
