So is this going to be a more rap-centric record? I guess you couldn't necessarily judge Love/Hate from "Ditch That", but it's not as if that was the first thing we heard from that record.

i really hope love king comes out - i kinda hated the clip i heard of this but this its kind of dope yeah but it has that not quite right feel that bugged me about "diva"

smh so many potential hits already on that album that they're ignoring to push some shit that's almost as bad as "let me see the booty"

I like this alot. It's the kind of thing that would sound absolutely epic in a club what with those pounding drums and the chorus is really droney and strangely hypnotic. I have no problem with The Dream's more carnal jams like this and "Let Me See The Booty."

so as much as i love the big the-dream thread, it's pretty damn big at this point & tons of the initial posting about love vs money is waaaaaaay deep in there, so i think an album specific thread is warranted -- not in the least bit because his profile is pretty big on ilm

according to twitter, terius is currently playing the album for the staff of the fader -- at this point in the lvm process, i think three or four songs had already leaked out ('my love' & the 'right side' demo iirc, as well as 'let me see the booty' & 'rockin that shit'), so we should be seeing some new stuff soon

these are demos for the most part and creation in progress so they do wobble about

looking a gift horse in the mouth:

an interesting listen, if not terribly illuminating. like, though you can hear where he's going in "fuck my brains out", it's too scattered to really enjoy. demystifies more than it tantalizes. and, unless you really get off on studio process snapshots, you might as well skip "here it is". otoh, "let your hair down" is nice, and the sam cooke covers are beautiful, esp "a change is gonna come" and "you send me".

it's funny hearing him sing change is gonna come, because it's so impassioned & you realise sam cooke's version has this whole restrained downbeat thing that makes it all the more full on
