look at fertile eno reacting alongside punk 75->80 most cross productive we would probably agree -- punk as foil provoked the best from bowie/iggy/heads (eno types)
but then he goes and joins U2 as though he's brain damaged (well he tells them what to do, but that bands pretence is global understanding or "peace") and i can't easily name a lesser equipped bunch of muscle than U2 pre-eno (and even when he's their joe walsh it does n

another green world -- that sounded good before i heard the music -- then the cover white stain-glass to off-frame slide + nude eno in green bathe en reverse -- this album oozes finesse -- it's so wholely artful
were these 4 albums demographic shots in various directions with the pop/ambient compromise of "..science" apparently the winner ?
BUT EVEN THAT DOES NOT EXPLAIN (suck) "U2", explain eno doing the boot theme for windows -- it's like he lost his taste completely -- again easiest to blame those U2 "christians"
but mid '70s who could complain if they were named eno and the best complement often laid on some album or other was simply the fact of his presence or credits like "brian eno: eno" ? did U2 dictate to Island "we want eno" ? i mean he's responsible for the cheap grace with which they've sold 200 albums to arena rock dopes -- it's not like he's the fifth beatle, more the first spy bomber
with all this recent selling out (yet artfully protecting his place in history via ambiguous "producer" rather than grimey U2 co-writing credits) he's become an art-slum-landlord

If I had to pick one album it would probably be "Taking Tiger Mountain" too, it's his most rounded album - the playing is subtle but menacing, the songs are puzzling but fun. For Ambient stuff, I'd go for "Music for Airports".

I've also long had a soft spot for "Under."
But really this guy is in my DNA, I think of Eno stuff every day.
Spider & I is a good shout right now.

― Terry Micawber (Tom D.), Tuesday, 7 November 2017 21:53 (eight years ago)
Very akin to Eno''s "Big Day" lyrics:
Taking our time before it's throughPassing our days in old shoesSister - think I'm returning to Peru.Wish that I never came hereThey can't pronounce my name hereEveryone asks me, "where's Peru?"
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 7 November 2017 21:55 (eight years ago)
That was Córdoba but there are number of points on the album where it feels like they might have used that technique xp
