New album is out - very derivative, but as a reformed goth, I'm liking the 'Only Theater of Pain' vibe on this.

every time i read this band's name i read it in a NZ accent like how murray says "crazy dogs" in the first ep of season 2 of flight of the concords

lots of blank dogs disccusion in the rolling punk threads from the past couple of years if youre curious

band would be way better if the production was in any way listenable

i don't mind (slash usually like) the lo-fi sound, it's sorta creepy in an appropriate way. dude puts out waaaaaaaay too much stuff, and most of it sounds alike, but there are always a few songs that i dig, usually the pop ones (like "yellow mice sleep").

I like his sound but yeah the songs don't usually stick with me.

"slowing down" is a pretty solid rip off of "wax and wane" by the cocteaus

Saw them this past weekend for the first time since their first show. Vastly more together and more powerful live now. On record though, he is risking a sense of utter disposability with his inhuman output. Not to mention the side project stuff. Still the production pace (and all the other Captured Tracks output) is impressive.

the new ep is good. went minimal wave with this one

there is never a band i soooo wish i could go back in time and not see live than the blank dogs

ive seen some clips on youtube and it doesnt look every enticing. that being said this ep is great.

yeah i love the records...and they had such a mysterious, otherworldly quality to them...then i saw them and it was just a bunch of dudes playing rock songs

i didnt know about the new EP, and have definitely not listened to them much in the past year, but i actually really enjoyed their shows in SF.

I like it quite a bit, but I'd have to say that the Pitchfork review totally nails it. The crisper sound and production works wonders, but it is a bit of a switch and the rough vocals can be more jarring at times rubbing up against the shininess. But Sniper's songwriting knack is still very much on full display.

No, just upgraded his equipment, its all a lot cleaner sounding.
