Need Cut Copy/VHS or Beta-ish song for 4th of July video!

Hello,

I am making a video of myself and my friends blowing stuff up on the 4th. I need a song like this:

http://www.last.fm/music/Cut+Copy/_/Going+Nowhere?autostart

or this:

http://www.last.fm/music/VHS+or+Beta/_/Euglama?autostart

For my video: upbeat, housey, with rockin guitars. Kind of like a punchy, 80s, 'America Fuck Yeah' sound.

I don't want to use the first song because the lyrics are too pessimistic. The second song is too short. I would prefer to use something current, if possible. Please help!

I listened... I don't know if that's exactly what I'm looking for, although maybe I listened to the wrong tracks.

I'm thinking more like Valerie Records stuff, but with guitars... or Alan Braxe? I'm kind of out of the loop for this kind of stuff.

bump

Sorry to be a pain but I really need to finish this video! Aren't there any bloghouse people out there?

Most of it's guitar-free, tho. I've been trying to think of something, and I listen to A LOT of this shit (or did a few months ago), but nothing's coming to mind.

Alan Braxe + Guitars (+ Fred Falke) = "Rubicon"

or maybe like... The Rapture's second album? (does the song have to be good??)

Nah, see it's got to be like a beer commercial. That andrew WK type of 'all american' sound. Think of bruce springsteen or van halen's Jump with a house beat.

This sucks. Futurecop! is close to what I want but no guitars.

OK I'm sorry to keep bumping this, and I'm about to give up. I know it's obnoxious to be like 'I'm thinking of a song' and then shoot down everyone's ideas, and I appreciate all the feedback. Here is the video I made, without music:

I want something "patriotic" i.e. dramatic, positive, whatever but in an ironic way because a lot of the footage is a goof and also it should be about the speed of house music because that's what was playing at the time, and you can tell that the dancing in the video is about that speed.

Something like the examples mentioned i.e. early VHS or Beta, Cut Copy's 1st album, Valerie records stuff maybe, Daft Punk's "Digital Love" et Cetera. Or if you have a better idea that doesn't fit that criteria let me know.

Thanks,
Morgan

Can you describe the feeling of the music you're looking for further?

dramatic, positive, whatever but in an ironic way (I DIED), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 07:32 (sixteen years ago)

I know it's your project and all, but I wouldn't score that with anything resembling what you're looking for. I'd go '80s college rock (X's "4th of July" would be perfect) or maybe somthing acoustic and instrumental and slo-mo most of it.
