Surprised myself by voting "It Wasn't Me" over "Ms. Jackson". It simply has one of the most gorgeous choruses of this decade, and Rikrok's voice is so pure and smooth (better than Andre's, certainly). Shaggy feels like a guest star on that tune, though I can't imagine how it would sound without the point-counterpoint dialogue between the two vocalists.

Yeah, I kinda hate years like this where there is one song that is totally ::CANON:: and a bunch of other songs of similar quality that get shafted because everyone has spent so much time circle jerking over about how great that one song is. The votes for the other really good songs inevitably get split X ways and the really boring obvious song wins.

"It Wasn't Me" was one of those songs where while I didn't have strong feelings about it at first, that everyone else around me seemed to hate it with irrational passion totally made me default Shaggy stan, thus I will rep for it still.

I can't imagine spending a significant amount of time in the presence of ppl who would hate on Shaggy.

I don't hate any of the songs I didn't vote for here, but only one, when it came on the radio in my car the first time I heard it, caused me to pull over and listen in wonder. I didn't know it was "canon" then, I didn't even know who the band was, but I knew "Ms. Jackson" was incredible.
