really? i was so bored when i first read their name i was actually shocked offended. great band, though, don't get me wrong. maybe the only way the band name might work is by virtue of it creating such a jarring juxtaposition between the image conjured by the name and the actual sound of the band. in terms of band-name-as-cool-sounding-word-combination goes, it doesn't get much worse.

I was sort of annoyed by their record being on Slumberland, ie I didn't expect the band to have heard of Weekend the 80s band necessarily but I'm pretty sure whoever it is that runs Slumberland would have a working knowledge of Young Marble Giants+related ventures and might have suggested a name change
