please vote on Edward III's poll too which cassette in this shoebox full of cassettes should I listen to??

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:15 (fifteen years ago)

I forgot about Warmer Milks. Didn't they do some kinda country rock opus recently? I tried without success to order it from Animal in Disguise.

Penetrations Initials was the country rock one (i have the cdr)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:19 (fifteen years ago)

unless there's a new one

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:19 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, this was more recent. I really liked Penetration Initials though. And the Rwanda 7", which was kinda similar.

Have you considered putting them all in a big bin and setting light to it?

Desmond Decca Aitkenhead (Matt DC), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:27 (fifteen years ago)

I'll need to track it down then, any idea of the name?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:27 (fifteen years ago)

No Matt, why would I do that?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:27 (fifteen years ago)

No, you don't understand, Putting Them All In A Bin And Setting Light To It is the name of a band!!!

Desmond Decca Aitkenhead (Matt DC), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:29 (fifteen years ago)

(Sorry, I'll leave the thread alone now - I just found the names of half these bands very amusing)

Desmond Decca Aitkenhead (Matt DC), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:30 (fifteen years ago)

Which were your fave names?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:31 (fifteen years ago)

Bone Awl - All Has Red (Stigmata) seems to be very popular on threads about cassettes lately. Do they not put their music out in other formats? (I never heard of them before myself.)

xhuxk, Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:36 (fifteen years ago)

I voted for Moss, btw, since that's the only band above who I've ever heard and momentarily thought I might like. Plus their music really fits their name.

xhuxk, Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:37 (fifteen years ago)

Is there any way you could play them all at the same time?

Matt #2, Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:38 (fifteen years ago)

I voted for Marzuraan anyway as they named themselves after an OLD song, unless it's some other reference I don't know about.

Matt #2, Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:39 (fifteen years ago)

chuck I have an LP by them too. They have a lot of stuff out
xxxp

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:39 (fifteen years ago)

these threads are making me regret flipping out during my last move and throwing all my cassettes away

and the oscar goes to "HOT TUB TIME MACHINE!" (jjjusten), Thursday, 16 July 2009 16:55 (fifteen years ago)

note: years of unplayed basement storage had led to them having a vintaged mildewed quality that wasnt exactly great for fidelity

Melt them all, inhale the fumes.

brotherlovesdub, Thursday, 16 July 2009 17:03 (fifteen years ago)

yeah yeah we know there isn't enough metal on it for you Brian.

You should have just left your response like this IMO

Pissed Jenas (DJ Mencap), Thursday, 16 July 2009 17:20 (fifteen years ago)

What's that Champs thing like? Was it pricey?

Pissed Jenas (DJ Mencap), Thursday, 16 July 2009 17:21 (fifteen years ago)

not really. I got it along with the Gospel tape for about £10 for both

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 17:28 (fifteen years ago)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 19:15 (fifteen years ago)

hi!

鬼の手 (Edward III), Thursday, 16 July 2009 20:43 (fifteen years ago)

I'm voting for BONE AWL

鬼の手 (Edward III), Thursday, 16 July 2009 20:44 (fifteen years ago)

i only know the Pocahaunted one so i chose that...

i have loads of noise tapes and things from over the years. i think my favorites are ones from Yellow Swans and Gang Wizard, tho i have a Skaters tape somewhere that i would love to hear.

gonna be a long hot summer for the MS Word paperclip (the table is the table), Thursday, 16 July 2009 20:57 (fifteen years ago)

some of that skaters stuff sells for silly money

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 16 July 2009 20:58 (fifteen years ago)

esp solo stuff

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 July 2009 00:26 (fifteen years ago)

are bone awl gonna walk this one too?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 July 2009 09:33 (fifteen years ago)

I voted Pocahaunted, mainly I have another record of their's (Chains, I think it is called), which is wholly awesome. Plus pun-based band names are clearly the way forward. I'd like to hear that Moss one though.

ears are wounds, Friday, 17 July 2009 09:39 (fifteen years ago)

the moss album is available on cd and lp too.
I actually have all 3 because the cd came out 1st and the lp a year or more later and the tape came after that and was cheap and has an extra track.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 July 2009 11:27 (fifteen years ago)

bone awl is gonna take this. I voted for em too.

totally starting a copycat thread because I just hooked up my tape player.

original bgm, Friday, 17 July 2009 14:35 (fifteen years ago)

awesome

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 July 2009 15:06 (fifteen years ago)

Will the Bone Awl be in your poll too?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 July 2009 15:17 (fifteen years ago)

unfortunately, no. :-(

but there will be a bunch of new age tapes I found in a crate at an art school!

original bgm, Friday, 17 July 2009 16:44 (fifteen years ago)

ilms favourite!

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 July 2009 18:35 (fifteen years ago)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 17 July 2009 23:10 (fifteen years ago)

He's finding some Bone Awl tapes.

it's not what it should be (state of the world today), Saturday, 18 July 2009 12:55 (fifteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Saturday, 18 July 2009 23:01 (fifteen years ago)

pcrutboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 19 July 2009 17:40 (fifteen years ago)

where's your poll?!!

original bgm, Sunday, 19 July 2009 21:31 (fifteen years ago)

hurrah. Who do you think will win this? I have a sneaking feeling Pocahaunted will win. Unless the Bone Awl fans show up here too.

pcrutboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 19 July 2009 21:39 (fifteen years ago)

20 mins! (though I wont be listening to anything tonight)

pcrutboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 19 July 2009 22:40 (fifteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Sunday, 19 July 2009 23:01 (fifteen years ago)

I was right. I just felt that they were the band on this list people had heard of the most.
I wonder if Scott voted for the Gospel tape?

pcrutboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 19 July 2009 23:06 (fifteen years ago)

time to play!
