Darts of Pleasure was the first FF song I heard, and I'm pretty sure it's still my favorite.

"Jacqueline".

I still dislike "This Fire" for the hyper-dumbness of the lyric and it's probly my least favourite FF song.

Raekwon Parlour (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 22 July 2009 10:23 (fifteen years ago)

"Jacqueline" b/c when I heard about this album I thought "oh great, the latest Brit bullshit to get hyped in the US, yay" but when I finally got around to listening, the first track was actually kinda awesome. I love the interweaving guitars that kick it off after the intro, so fucking exciting still to hear.

la saucisse est une femme? (Euler), Wednesday, 22 July 2009 10:46 (fifteen years ago)

This was a lot tougher than I thought it would be, went with "Michael" very narrowly over "Dark of the Matinee" in the end.

i'm surprised at the lack of love for "Take Me Out." i knew this album would have its votes spread out but only one mention for the big single?

Bee OK, Wednesday, 22 July 2009 23:30 (fifteen years ago)

Actually liked this album. Either Darts Of Pleasure, Michael or Come On Home. Will re-listen to confirm.

"Come On Home" is a good and under-rated answer.

Juggalo Soldier (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 22 July 2009 23:33 (fifteen years ago)

It was pretty much my favourite at the time. I may be forced to vote for it if there's not much love shown here. FF can do dark and moody shocka!

Hey, BeeOK, I voted for it!

Mark G, Wednesday, 22 July 2009 23:36 (fifteen years ago)

Absolutely amazing chance discovery: FF "Come On Home" and Cabaret Voltaire "The Set Up" are COMPLETELY IN SYNCH tempo-wise and make the most fantastic mash-up

omg

This album sure is consistent, innit? "Take Me Out" because it is the highlight by default, I guess.

challop matters (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 23 July 2009 12:25 (fifteen years ago)

Darts. First time I heard it they instantly became my favourite new band - I thought the slip into German for the last lines was a brilliant pop moment. Sad how little a shit I give about them now.

Dorian (Dorianlynskey), Thursday, 23 July 2009 12:36 (fifteen years ago)

i was driving around Manhattan Beach today and saw a kid at the bus stop with this T-shirt on, reminded me that i had to throw this on to vote.

loved hearing this again today. it ended up being between "Auf Achse," "The Dark of the Matinee" and the wonderfully infectious "Michael." voting for "Auf Achse."

if they'd have split *after* this album = best british band of the decade i think.

I'm not so big on them in general but I love "Michael".

Dart of Pleasure. Still their best song to this day.

Auf Achse is pretty comfortably the crowning achievement of this band thus far.

Silly talk. They'd never have given us the surprisingly great third album.

seven years pass...

I love this record, but I think the follow-up is very underrated.

3rd album is the most underrated imo

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Tuesday, 18 July 2017 03:29 (seven years ago)

The third album is pretty great, too. There was a lot of good music made in the '00s that folks have forgotten about 'cuz they were too busy rushing onto the next thing.

The Anti-Climax Blues Band (Turrican), Tuesday, 18 July 2017 03:32 (seven years ago)

It's hard to say what I would have voted for here, probably 'Michael', which is a real earworm.
