I couldn't resist the title.

It's between "Leg" and "Under the Surface" for me, with "Palomine" a dark horse. Their later albums never did much for me but this one is nearly perfect, I think.

Cool video! I just remembered another reason I love this band: the lead singer is a dead ringer for my wife.

Great album but it's hard to pick one.

Tom Boy, Kid, or Ballentine though I have a great fondness just for the way Palomine closes the album in the end.

Kid's Allright is an awesome song. I'm voting for that.

I think one reason I love this album so much is because of how searching the sound generally is. Like, for instance on "Sundazed To The Core", by the middle of the song all four players are just trying to play higher and higher, not louder but straining towards some epiphany. van Dyk's voice is keening, trying to grab your full attention; while the guitar solo is similarly straining, interweaving with the voice. The rhythm section keeps time but they're also playing flashy and straining to be the center. The drummer keeps adding these little rolls where he kicks up the tempo briefly, settling back into the pocket by way of another flashy fill. I think it's now between this song and "Under the Surface" for me.

A friend of mine recently played Privat Suit again at a party, I had forgotten about some of the wonderful songs on that one. Voted Tom Boy for this one.

although i think it was 'kid's alright' that first grabbed my attention back in the day

i am voting Brain-Tag for variation. (Kid's Allright, Palomine, Sundazed to the Core all fine too)

I'm gonna be a shocker and plump for that TomBoy - had to play it again just now and it still has it

I'm impressed at all the love of "Tom Boy"; I didn't realize it was so liked. It's a very good song, tenderly sung with a catchy chorus. I remember them bouncing like crazy when playing it, and "Kid's Alright", at a show on what I guess was the Lamprey tour.
