How great is "Suga Suga" by Baby Bash??

Mellow, luscious song, the musical equivalent of a dip in the pool on a hot summer day. It deserves a thread of its own where we can heap praise upon it.

Baby Bash's "Suga Suga" is secretly the best song of the past ten years, but nobody knows this except for me and this one Mexican dude I went to high school with who had it coming out of his headphones for the entirety of senior year.

i can't believe for how many times i've seen this album cover i've never actually heard this song till now. it's alright. in the same way (but not as good) as crazytown "butterfly" is.

I have a friend who barely pays attention to pop/R&B music -- her tastes run more to Flaming Lips and They Might Be Giants -- but for some reason she LOVES "Suga Suga."

I feel like there were a lot of little jazz guitar samples in pop ca. 2003-04. This plus Juvenile's "Rodeo," Cassidy's "Hotel," Lil Flip's "Sunshine," Fabolous's "Can't Let You Go," etc.

jaymc, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:48 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, there was a lot of mellow shit in that era

some dude, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:52 (sixteen years ago)

I dug it, tbh.

jaymc, Tuesday, 28 July 2009 13:56 (sixteen years ago)

yeah it was good times. in the post-T-Pain era now even most R&B and girly rap songs are very loud and kind of overbearing.

i was thinking this while listening to "sunshine" the other day - i also classify sean paul duets in this category, also fab's loverman joints

I have this list going on in my mind with songs that give me the same vibe, so I've basically been listening to this, "Let Me Love You" and "No Diggity" on loop. If someone wants to put together a CD-R listing in that vein I would snap it up.
