You should have waited for 10 - Marcus Nasty!

Love love love the Paleface mix. Almost as much as I dislike the wankery of the Alexander Nut mix. The rest are okay but I don't think I've ever put them on more than once.

paleface mix is amazing! and it gets dubious props for being the only bassline mix you can easily find in the US.

i'm really enjoying spyro right now, personally

The Supa D mix has a nice selection but it comes off really bland. It just doesn't work.

I tend to like Skream a lot but his mix is really grating. Don't like the track selection at all..

Spyro's is nice though! It's oddly whimsical, you can tell he's having fun with it.

I really want to hear the Spyro and Paleface comps. I agree with Anephric re the Supa-D mix.

Tim F, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 03:14 (sixteen years ago)

really? i quite enjoyed the supa d mix. but that's the only funky mix i own, so i guess it just points at how amazing a music funky must be in its, uh, full glory or whatever

moonship journey to baja, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 03:16 (sixteen years ago)

the supa d mix delayed my getting into funky for a good few months b/c it was so dull

the plastician one is really great!

lex pretend, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 08:57 (sixteen years ago)

Supa-D's mix for Ministry of Sound is much much better.

Tim F, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 09:08 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, prob the worst of the three (tho) - but only b/c the pioneer and footloose discs are SO good i guess

lex pretend, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 09:14 (sixteen years ago)

??? I think it goes Footloose > Supa-D >>>>>>> Pioneer.

Tim F, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 10:53 (sixteen years ago)

Summed up by Pioneer's silly decision to use the original of DJ Naughty's "Quicktime" rather than the incomparably superior VIP mix.

Tim F, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 10:54 (sixteen years ago)

i love how the pioneer mix is so deep & housey, it gets into this really awesome zone from about midway thru. really don't mind about 'quicktime' and he includes karizma's incredible 'twyst this'!

lex pretend, Wednesday, 5 August 2009 12:54 (sixteen years ago)

actually i'd say the whole closing section from 'twyst this' thru to the end via hard house banton's amazing 'reign' is solid gold

this isn't about the rinse mixes, sorry!
