RIP Mark

I believe it was Bimble whom told me that he was looking for a good glam rock compilation (outside of the one I mentioned Starbucks selling at my local Kroger). I would like you all to help me make this mix for him - wherever he may be now, rest his soul.

29. Kate Bush -- All The Love.

m@rk once asked me what the lyrics to this song meant. i told him it was about friends who you always want to reach out to, but then life gets in the way and it becomes too late.

the lyrics:
The first time I died
Was in the arms of good friends of mine.
They kiss me with tears.
They hadn't been near me for years.
Say, why do it now
When I won't be around, I'm going out?

"We needed you
To love us too.
We wait for your move."

Only tragedy allows the release
Of love and grief never normally seen.
I didn't want to let them see me weep,
I didn't want to let them see me weak,
But I know I have shown
That I stand at the gates alone.

"I needed you
To love me too.
I wait for your move."

All the love, all the love,
All the love we should have given.

36. Sparks - "Bon Voyage"

Clouds forming on the gospel sky, trouble is about to brew on us
It didn't matter that we tried, they can only take a few of us
The fins and the paws and hooves and feet

Saunter up the gangway
The randomest sampling is complete
God, could there be some way
That I could
wear a hood
or by the
way I stood
Sneak aboard with you
Imitate,
Imitate,
Imitate,
Imitate,
they still know its you

Bon voyage, bon voyage, bon voyage, peace be with all of you
I wish that I, I wish that I, were one of you

Tears falling on the sloping sand, they're about to leave and we will stay
All governed by the rules of chance, they're about to leave and we will stay
Goodbye to my lucky friends and foes, glad that we could know you
Everyone sends their last hello, I wish that we could join you
Two of you
Two of them
Two of those
Two of them
Safety for the few
Two of you
Two of them
Two of those
Two of them
They will start anew

Bon voyage, bon voyage, bon voyage peace be with all of you
I wish that I, I wish that I, I wish that I?

Bickering,
Dickering,
Bickering,
Dickering,
Everything that moves
Bickering,
Dickering,
Bickering,
Dickering,
Final, futile moves
Bon voyage, bon voyage, bon voyage, peace be with all of you
I wish that I, I wish that I, I wish that I?

not a song to add to this mix, not even sure of his thoughts on this band but a kind of tribute. i'm having a harder time with this than i ever thought possible. all because of ILM's crazy passion for music.

i finally found that song:

I wish that we could talk about it,
But there, that's the problem.
With someone new I could have started,
Too late, for beginnings.
The little things that made me harassed,
Are gone, in a moment.
I miss the way we used to argue,
Locked, in your basement.

I wake up and the phone is ringing,
Surprised, as it's early.
And that should be the perfect warning,
That something's, a problem.
To tell the truth I saw it coming,
The way, you were breathing.
But nothing can prepare you for it,
The voice, on the other, end.

The worst is all the lovely weather,
I'm sad, it's not raining.
The coffee isn't even bitter,
Because, what's the difference?
There's all the work that needs to be done,
It's late, for revision.
There's all the time and all the planning,
And songs, to be finished.

And it keeps coming,
And it keeps coming,
And it keeps coming,
Till the day it stops
(Repeat x3)
And it keeps coming,
(Repeat x7)
Till the day it stops.

I wish that we could talk about it,
But there, that's the problem.
With someone new I could have started,
Too late, for beginnings.
You're smaller than my wife imagined,
Surprised, you were human.
There shouldn't be this ring of silence,
But what, are the options?

When someone great is gone...

This is what I'm looking at right now. I'm still adding tracks (might end up removing some). Then I'm going to put the songs into 2,3, or 4 mixes probably (ie, one long DJ track). One mix for all glam suggestions. One for songs that Bimble loves. One might be songs dedicated to Bimble. Maybe one that is just for really long songs that Bimble loves (I don't know. I haven't got to a point where I'm organizing songs yet) E-Mail me if you have comments or suggestions

Hey CL: My Sparks track was just a suggestion based on the initial glam parameters of the endeavor, but if we're going all wild card here, I'd really rather add a Pale Saints track as my contribution. I'll get back to you shortly on which one.
