I'm a poller not a fighter : MJ duets POLL

I thought about this while listening to "just good friends" this morning and thinking that although it wasn't great in any way, I had a soft spot for it then comparing it with MJ's other duets, thinking it was (almost) my favourite. I haven't included the thriller reedition bonus garbage but have included some Jacksons' stuff. so let's see.

I've never heard many of these since I've just found out about them while searching the net for this poll...
I'm hesitating between "fallin in love", "say, say, say" and "somebody's watching me"...

"Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin'" is massively underrated; is it b/c it's hard to find? But I had to go for "Say Say Say."

Rockwell. Kind of by default as most of these are terrible. MJ may have been many things, but he never had much in the way of chemistry with other non-Jackson performers. Somebody's Watching Me works because he's kind of a distant presence in the chorus alone.

yeah, I kinda hesitated to include it in the poll since I feel it's not really a duet...

Whatzupwitu w/ Eddie Murphy

ftr this is one of the worst songs ever recorded and has an incredibly terrible video:

Don't really know many of these, but MJ's vocals on 'Say Say Say' are pretty fine.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 7 August 2009 16:15 (sixteen years ago)

it's the falling in love

(but i like a lot of these)

I've skipped Rockwell b/c it's not really a duet, and going with "I just Can't Stop Loving You". Here's my best defense right now: the intense talked opening makes clear that this is no ordinary love, and the rest of the song is backing away from that emotional cliff, the gloss trying but failing to convince that you've misunderstood him. Really, I voted for it because I love singing the chorus; trying to sing both parts is stoopid fun.

Very nice, Euler. I should have voted for "I Just Can't Stop Loving You."

"scream"

damo tsu tsuki (r1o natsume), Friday, 7 August 2009 16:37 (sixteen years ago)

yeah probably Scream for me too, since his death that somehow seems extra charged. plus cool video.

sonderangerbot, Friday, 7 August 2009 16:51 (sixteen years ago)

Can't really narrow it down much further from these five:

Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin w/ Jermaine Jackson
I just can't stop loving you w/Siedah Garrett
Ease On Down The Road w/Diana Ross
State of Shock w/ Mick Jagger
Scream w/ Janet

sir-mounter (Eric H.), Friday, 7 August 2009 17:02 (sixteen years ago)

of those five, I'd go with Siedah

is 'whatever happens' really a duet? i don't remember santana singing on it.

Ømår Littel (Jordan), Friday, 7 August 2009 17:10 (sixteen years ago)

i don't even know if dude sings

Ømår Littel (Jordan), Friday, 7 August 2009 17:10 (sixteen years ago)

he sings with his GUITAR

I am over wieght and I have angelical quilities (HI DERE), Friday, 7 August 2009 17:11 (sixteen years ago)

sure he does

Ømår Littel (Jordan), Friday, 7 August 2009 17:13 (sixteen years ago)

"The Man". Although generally, duets rarely got the best out of him. Most of these tracks are surprisingly mediocre compared to most of his output.
