I think this was the first modern album I felt compelled to own on vinyl. it's so pretty.

claws of jungle red (Stevie D), Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:07 (sixteen years ago)

"So completely stupid" because you hear that and think, "Man! Yeah, what a bunch of annoying dumb stuff! I'd hate someone who did all that!" but looking at it in list form, it's not really so bad (except maybe for breaking baubles).

Chinavision (altair nouveau), Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:11 (sixteen years ago)

oh and throwing garbage

Chinavision (altair nouveau), Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:11 (sixteen years ago)

Mr. Que, Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:22 (sixteen years ago)

went with breaking baubles

Mr. Que, Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:29 (sixteen years ago)

"The problem is that Jack White aims to honor his diverse heroes with too limited a palette; it's like paying tribute to Edward Hopper, Ansel Adams, Robert Colescott, and Georgia O'Keeffe in mural with a foot-pump-operated Wagner Power Painter and buckets of red and white. "Hypnotize" valiantly strives for The Stooges, while "Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine" gives up four fingers to a butcher's knife on the altar of Led Zeppelin. But Jack White is no Jim Page (nor Osterberg), and suggestions to the contrary will earn you an explanation at the end of the Questionable Musical Taste line on judgment day. Meg White, meanwhile, pleads to her man on "In the Cold, Cold Night" like a coy Mo Tucker or Georgia Hubley-- more so than take-no-sass Patsy Cline or Dusty in Memphis. Linty in Arkadelphia, perhaps."

"jim page"? ugh

69, Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:34 (sixteen years ago)

it would have been to uncomfortable, though, to say Jimmy Osterberg

Mr. Que, Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:36 (sixteen years ago)

I suggest to the contrary.

So, I'm on the End of the line of "Questionable music taste" Judgement day lines.

blum blum blumity.

Who's Nor Osterberg btw?
