Gloworm

Lately I've been listening to "Carry Me Home" and "I Lift My Cup" for the first time in years, and I think they still sound pretty dope. Of course there's always been an implicit connection to gospel in house and dance music, but I like how these tunes make it explicit, plus the singer has a great preachery voice. Apparently they (I thought "Gloworm" was just the singer guy, but Discogs.com says there were two of them) only released one single after those two, and after that they seem to have vanished completely. I wonder were they are now?

Am I the only one who remembers?

Hmm, apparently the singer has a Myspace page with a couple of new tunes. "5149" is kinda bland, but "Runaway" is nice enough. Only 7 friends though, how sad. :(

Enjoyed these at the time, nice to hear them again. Can't offer much more than that, though. Thanks!

These = "I Lift My Cup" and "Carry Me Home". Not heard the other single, just found a remix of it on youtube and wasn't too impressed, but no idea what the original was like.

These were done by a Pre-Faithless Rollo, weren't they? I listened to these again as I found out the guy from La Roux was in Huff & Puff.

There's a Rollo remix of "Carry Me Home", but I don't think he had anything to do with the original.

Oh, yeah, sorry. I mentally put all the Hooj Choons and stuff from my early clubbing period together.

According to Discogs the Gloworm tunes were produced by someone called Will Mount, but I have no idea who he is, and he doesn't seem to have done much else.

Yeah, "Carry me home" was excellent, and I did think this was a dude that was going to be around for a while, a/la AlexONeil or somesuch...

There's a video of him in Youtube where he tries to explain why he's been away for 15 years, and he thanks all the people who've remained his fans, and says he's gonna make a comeback soon. It's kinda bittersweet, because it's pretty obvious he's not very likely to make that comeback.

Oh yeah, and the video is from January 2008, so far there's no news of him except for those two tunes at his Myspace.
