The new "Disco Terminateur" is promising, albeit a bit Justiceish. Should be a really awesome album.

terrible, terrible title
― badpowderfinger (electricsound), Monday, 17 August 2009 00:05 (sixteen years ago)
Agreed. Also if anyone can decode the lyrics to the rewind-hidden track from OK Cowboy ("One Billion Dollar Studio") I will be your best friend forever.

good title
― conrad, Monday, 17 August 2009 01:02 (sixteen years ago)
apparently there will be a song called "Chicken Lady" on this album. Vitalic is a Kids in the Hall fan, who'd have guessed?

12 minute album minimix available at http://www.vitalic-flashmob.com/minimix/ Sounds promising, no?

Is this album going totally under the radar or are people just not feeling it? I quite enjoyed it on first listen - a couple of terrific tracks, although it doesn't quite have the "WRAAAGH!" factor of OK Cowboy.
― Matt DC, Friday, 9 October 2009 14:26 (fifteen years ago)
it's pretty good, really like Poison Lips and One Above One, but it feels a bit generic and bland in parts, especially the second half of the album.

dude, the latter. this record sucks, and Vitalic's sound is so terribly dated it gives me tard tingles just imagining this shit on speakers.

I am seeing him live at Matter tonight
Is Matter as terrible as I have been led to expect? I was initially expecting your standard overpriced London club experience, but user reviews have led me to think that on top of this I'm going to have my flesh eaten by feral residents of Woolwich within seconds of entry
― MPx4A, Friday, 19 March 2010 13:04 (fifteen years ago)
there's a club in Woolwich? and you thought Venue was the last great SE London outpost
Woolwich is kinda 50% cuddly pushover Charlton fans and 50% BNP troglodytes
― ilxor lookin' boy (acoleuthic), Friday, 19 March 2010 13:10 (fifteen years ago)
it's at the o2
I dunno I mean a lot of the reviews seemed to be written by prissy thin skinned racists
― MPx4A, Friday, 19 March 2010 13:14 (fifteen years ago)
I quite like this album
― MPx4A, Friday, 19 March 2010 13:15 (fifteen years ago)
Matter isn't in Woolwich anyway. I doubt you'll encounter much trouble on the inside as it's your standard London Fabric-style crowd. Maybe a bit more studenty depending on line-up. The only locals around the venue will be those who are otherwise going to the Dome - ie not yer typical menacing youths.
As a venue, Matter is fantastic, terrific soundsystem/visuals, really good upstairs room for dancing with glitterwalls, tremendous vibrating dancefloor downstairs. Also has great colosseum-style steps/seating around the dancefloor, good for either dancing or taking time out, or just standing and watching the action. Only problem is that there's only one staircase which can get a bit congested.
The big problem is that getting inside is marginally more onerous than getting on a plane - metal detectors, queues etc. Also you have to walk right round the Dome to get in, hugging the river all the way, so if it's a cold and windy night you're basically fucked. It's brilliant once you're in though.

went to the main O2 Arena once, didn't get on with it
but there isn't much risk of harm. and there are plenty of buses from immediately outide the arena. it does sound like the people writing the reviews are all 'ew ethnics' because, like, deptford and greenwich dare to be multicultural
relax fellas, the only folks mugging you are the people who set the ticket-prices
― ilxor lookin' boy (acoleuthic), Friday, 19 March 2010 13:18 (fifteen years ago)
I can't emphasise how awesome the vibrating dancefloor is. I saw Gavin Russom there and when he played Revelee there was this enormous bass drop that literally sent shivers across the entire dancefloor.
― Maraca Son Sistema (Matt DC), Friday, 19 March 2010 13:19 (fifteen years ago)
Oh and if the Jubilee line isn't working then it will be hellish all around the venue.
if the Jubilee line isn't working, seriously just walk to westcombe park station

Jubilee is fine east of Waterloo afaik; night-bussing back in time to get up to go to a 12:45 kick off in Birmingham maybe not so much, but I've shat in my own bed and now I've gotta lie in it
I know it's not really Woolwich
― MPx4A, Friday, 19 March 2010 13:27 (fifteen years ago)
"Second Lives" is real big
that Robocop/Ariston advert music style breakdown is borderline piss-takingly sentimental
― MPx4A, Friday, 19 March 2010 13:28 (fifteen years ago)
The album is a bit of a bore but the Second Lives EP makes up for it.

mine is the mindset of someone morally and financially opposed to cabs, also it's a nice li'l stroll thru semi-urban desolation

― lipster grifter (history mayne), Friday, 19 March 2010 14:55 (fifteen years ago)
Then again I now refuse to go anywhere after midnight without getting a cab home. I value my sleep at somewhere slightly over £20 an hour.

― MPx4A, Friday, 19 March 2010 14:59 (fifteen years ago)
It says a lot about the appalling positioning of the Dome that even getting to it from most of SE London is a fucking nightmare.
― Maraca Son Sistema (Matt DC), Friday, 19 March 2010 15:00 (fifteen years ago)
This discussion of late night London transport has now outstripped the discussion of the album. Which is an okay record in its own right but next to the first one it doesn't really stand up at all.
― Maraca Son Sistema (Matt DC), Friday, 19 March 2010 15:02 (fifteen years ago)
morally = why line the pockets of the cab racket when you can take public transport? although really it's 'do not want to spend that much money on travel'
― ilxor lookin' boy (acoleuthic), Friday, 19 March 2010 15:02 (fifteen years ago)
That is a rubbish moral stance. Until public transport arrives within a few seconds of me wanting it and drops me right at my doorstep, and wakes me up if I fall asleep, it will remain so.
― Maraca Son Sistema (Matt DC), Friday, 19 March 2010 15:04 (fifteen years ago)
It's also a bit "if you rely on public transport at that time of night, you will end up getting a cab either through the shitness of late night London transport or through your own drunken idiocy, so why put off the inevitable?"
Also Louis we can't all have our dads pick us up at the station you know.

who could have known meeting matt dc on the train home when i'd already arranged a lift all of 2 or 3 years ago would have such consequences ;_;
