Eurodance revisited?

Hello all
I've been away. I used to post here under the name Jay-Kid until like three or four years ago. I don't know what happened, but anyway now I'm back. Thanks for having me!

I've been wondering if Eurodance is experiencing a reinterpreted, second coming this year.

Major Lazer is toying about with the genre on their album, squeezing the frantic synth energy and demented pace out of it without succumbing to ridiculous lyrics et al.

People talk about dance-hop, and in Sweden, rapper Promoe just enjoyed this year's no. 1 with 'Svennebanan' - a pisstake on daft lad culture using the local punters' apparent music of choice. It's a banger.

Any other observations/thoughts on this?

haven't noticed it this time around to be honest. if there is a revival it'll be interesting to see if it hits the uk this time around. it seems that britishers seem a lot more wary of cheesy novelty stuff from outside the country now that it has practically become a primula factory in itself, what with simon cowell etc. but hey, the tories are coming in, there's a recession on, blur have reformed - we may as well get this inevitable 1992 revival out of our systems as soon as possible, so i say bring back 2unlimited.

it's different now it's much easier for David Guetta, Bob Sinclar or whoever to do a vaguely trance/electro-based thing with an American singer or maybe even MC
