His best solo work IMO. Side 2 in particular is very strong

This album is crowded with gems. The title track, "Train In The Distance", "The Late Great Johnny Ace". All fantastic. But it still has to be "René and Georgette Margritte With The Dog After The War". Excellent video too, which is sadly very hard to find.

I love this album and the only song I wouldn't care to listen to right now is "cars are cars".maybe "allergies" too. This and "faith" by the cure are my go-to night running albums.

"Cars And Cars" has an annoying chorus, but the verse is great.

"Cars Are Cars" even.

Chic should have recorded a whole album with Simon.

I can't remember what I've heard from this.

What a fantastic album, but it has to be "Train in the Distance"

I think this and the new one are the only PS solo albums I haven't heard... is this the only one without any "hits" on it (besides Capeman)

Is there a bootleg of this record available with the pre-wiping-of-Artie's-vocals mix? Voting Train In The Distance.

Is there a bootleg of this record available with the pre-wiping-of-Artie's-vocals mix?

Did they even get to the stage of Art laying down vocals?

anagram, Wednesday, 26 August 2009 15:39 (sixteen years ago)

They did! At least on a few songs. there's a bootleg ... Would've voted for the 1st Think Too Much here if i'd seen this poll.

that cover looks like one of those screengrabs from a video camera you see on the wall in a convenience store to discourage shoplifters.
