My gut says George Jones. Going with the gut.

1. "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now," 2. "For Your Love," 3. Chiffons, 4. "Liar, Liar." This may be the one time I vote for a disco song--a couple of others would have a chance if they're in the book, but it'll depend on their placement. Big assist to P.T. Anderson.

Tempted to go with the Beach Boys, weirdly enough, but I'll stick with Dion instead. Least exciting list of the last few, I'd say.

Ike and Tina Turner, "It's Gonna Work Out Fine" is fantastic and gets my vote.

"Wendy" for me.

Dan S, Sunday, 23 August 2009 06:04 (sixteen years ago)

"You Keep Me Hangin' On" over "I'm Walkin'" over "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" over "It's Gonna Work Out Fine" over Aretha's "Don't Play That Song"

Was too lazy to vote this time (actually, I think I've only voted in two of these things), but pretty much a 3-way tie for me between McFadden & Whitehead, Yardbirds, and Paul Revere & the Raiders (the last one largely for sentimental reasons, as it's a memorable cut on one of the very first LPs I obsessed over as a kid).
