I watch this and feel sad that I was only born in 1982:

I used to have the 12-inch single -- called either "To Be Or Not To Be (The Hitler Rap)" or the other way around, I think; in an awesome picture sleeve and maybe as a German pressing (!) since I probably bought it in Germany while I was in the Army. I've kicked myself many times since for getting rid of it.
I do still have a copy of Mel's earlier rap 12-inch, though -- "It's Good To Be The King" from 1982 on WMOT, label of Frankie "Double Dutch Bus" Smith (who seemed at the time to also be Mel's main influence as a rapper.) Great record; inspired an answer rap called "It's Good To Be The Queen" by Syliva (Robinson, of Sugarhill.) Pretty sure I still have my 12-inch of that, too.

I didn't even know he did this one! As xhuxk notes, "It's Good to Be the King" was the one before it and the only one I knew about at the time.

is "achtung baby" a common phrase i dont know about, or did u2 name their album after a line in this rap?

The album's title, "Achtung, Baby!" in German means "Attention, baby!" or "Watch out, baby!" was used by the band's sound engineer Joe O'Herlihy during the making of the album.[4] He reportedly took the phrase from the Mel Brooks film The Producers.[23] Although the phrase actually said in the film is, "Auf Wiedersehen, Baby".

Amazingly, this is only one of two eye-openers I discovered on the karaoke machine of a dodgy gay pub in far north queensland this week. The other being this:

ALSO I was reminded of the existence of RuPaul's "Work (Supermodel)", which I used to love but had entirely forgotten. "Sashay! Chante?"

HOW could you have forgotten that, I ask you.
― Ned Raggett, Monday, 31 August 2009 13:17 (sixteen years ago)
I know! It was like forgetting the face of your first mindblowing one night stand I tell you.

I don't believe the Skatt Bros when they sing about the hots for Ms. Lilly. I can't quite put my finger on it.
