Off topic, but similar idea. I sped "Mother" up to sound like a Misfits song rather than a Danzig song, but kept the pitch the same.

I have a 45rpm 12" of Number of the Beast that sounds crushing on 33rpm. Bruce sounds like a man on that. I think the key here is to slow down bands with really high pitched singers.

I played the Butthole Surfers PCPPEP at 33 for a good long while before I realized it was supposed to be on 45. Hadn't heard anything else by them at that point so had no idea it was wrong. It sounds heavy and evil as fuck.

Still do it every once in a while just for the memories.

i put this on the ipod today. Driving around playing on shuffle, it comes up. The next song is "Big Church" from Monoliths and Dimensions, and I haven't stopped grinning since :)

I got it up to 45 speed then worked on tuning it back down and got it a bit further down than the original track, but I kind of liked it this way.

i still haven't listened to this but the excitement over it is weird to me -- "Working Man" is a transparent Zep rip and a lot of contemporary sludgy metal bands are just slowed down Zep, this can't be a revelation to anyone can it?
