Sorry, I only know the Field Studies album. That one has "Birds" on it too though.

highly overlooked band though.

you should listen to Featuring.
it's their best! (and "critical peak"..)

Zeno, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 18:33 (fifteen years ago)

btw, my dillema is between tracks 1 2 or 3.

Zeno, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 18:34 (fifteen years ago)

ok, i will :-)

the next grozart, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 18:40 (fifteen years ago)

basically, it's like Field Studies, only with larger amount of great songs

Zeno, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 18:44 (fifteen years ago)

I don't know how it'll go down because it was almost exactly 10 years ago to the day I got into Field Studies and it has a very significant nostalgia for me as I bought it only days before leaving home for the first time to go to university. Incidentally "Smile" off that album is one of my all time favourite songs.

the next grozart, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 18:51 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, smile and all the same are the best songs from that album, maybe the only ones who are really great when i come to think about it

Zeno, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 18:53 (fifteen years ago)

quasi's "california" should have been the OC theme instead

mince lice (electricsound), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 23:25 (fifteen years ago)

tracks 1 & 2 were both heavily featured on mixes i made 4-5 years back. could definitely go either way.

Bastards of Young Dro, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 23:50 (fifteen years ago)

also the vinyl [re?]issuing of featuring "birds" that i got included r&b transmogrification as a bonus LP inside. i was pleasantly happy about that treat after purchase.

Bastards of Young Dro, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 23:52 (fifteen years ago)

Oh god this album. It was the soundtrack to one of the worst periods of my life, but it's just so brilliantly nihilistic that I can't help but love it.

Toss up between "Life is dull, life is grey, at it's best, it's just OK, but I'm happy to report - life, is also short" and "and now I need to find a way to occupy my time until the day I die coz I GIVE UP."

I was undecided and never got to vote in this (went on a 3 day vacation). I would have voted The Poisoned Well, The Happy Prole, or Sea Shanty. I don't have the album on me to decide.

Quasi is one of the few bands that belong on the top of any 'Best of Modern Day Bands' list. I'm looking forward to hearing the album that they are making now.
