Madonna ahead of Supremes.

if I don't see more dissent, I'm going to have to check myself in (Matos W.K.), Wednesday, 2 September 2009 00:18 (fifteen years ago)

Four contenders--excellent group: 1. "Rikki Don't Lose That Number," 2. "Life's Little Ups and Downs," 3. "A Lover's Question," 4. "Holiday."

"The Pill"

post-contrarian meta-challop 2009 (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 2 September 2009 02:13 (fifteen years ago)

Wow! "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" and "Oliver's Army" are BOTH routinely my favorite song of all time. Even if you personified them, it's hard to know who would win, because Oliver's Army is an army, but the Ramblin' Gamblin' Man is wily.

dr. phil, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 02:32 (fifteen years ago)

The question is, how did "Do It Again" beat both of them?

dr. phil, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 02:34 (fifteen years ago)

oliver's army over the animals

Ramblin Gamblin Man

Not my favourite assortment thus far. Seger's already got a coupla votes (deservedly, altho I'd have preferred "2+2=?" or "Persecution Smith" or "Heavy Music") so I'm gonna go back, Jack.

Myonga Vön Bontee, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 08:53 (fifteen years ago)

"Smarty Pants"

Mark G, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 08:56 (fifteen years ago)

"Sea of Love" over the Easybeats and "Rikki". Obviously it's a deep list.

Houston (Euler), Wednesday, 2 September 2009 08:56 (fifteen years ago)

king curtis edging the animals and e.c.

mookieproof, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 08:58 (fifteen years ago)

"Stand by Your Man," y'all!

what kinda life is that? (Ioannis), Wednesday, 2 September 2009 10:57 (fifteen years ago)

^^^^ Tammy and "Life's Little Ups and Downs" are the queen and king of this list. Billy Sherill produced both of them.

ρεμπετις, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 11:57 (fifteen years ago)

"The Pill" mainly cuz it reminds me of Wide Right's rockin' version.

Kevin John Bozelka, Thursday, 3 September 2009 05:16 (fifteen years ago)

1967 always wins.

meisenfek, Thursday, 3 September 2009 05:23 (fifteen years ago)

xhuxk, Thursday, 3 September 2009 23:13 (fifteen years ago)

Holiday, Rikki, Life's Little, Foreigner, EWF, Tammy, Costello, Loretta, Holly, Animals, Van and Jimmy Reed, a strong list of choices and I could go on and on, but voting Madonna.
