I want to put this on a continuous 7-day loop, I think.
Funny thing is, it sounds like a bunch of Anticon shit that ceased to be interesting at least three years ago, and I could just be being wow'ed by its high profile. But I don't think so. A lot of this is VERY good.

What the shit? I just got to "Up, Up and Away" and it sounds like a collaboration with Teddybears (although I'm pretty sure it isn't). Wasn't expecting a straightforward pop song there at the end, though.

I can't be the only ilxor who thinks this album is fantastic, can I?

I like it way, way, way, way, way more than I expected to. Still not a "great" album, but I can at least listen to it all the way through. Kinda wish Ratatat was on more songs, love the pair they are on.

Lotsa good stuff on here.. Some songs are more boring than others, but the album picks up quite a bit in the 2nd half.. or I guess that would be parts 3, 4 & 5. "Sky Might Fall" stands out.

hoooo boy this album is garbage
― truth bomber ginsburg (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 27 September 2009 07:33 (sixteen years ago)
it's just mopey for no reason & completely tedious. basically someone you don't care about telling you about their bland problems blandly.
― truth bomber ginsburg (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 27 September 2009 07:36 (sixteen years ago)
just a remarkably self-indulgent, self-serious & unaware snoozefest

Second half >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> First half
I think all of J0rdan's comments perfectly sum up the run from "Solo Dolo" to "My World". Really, really picks up after "Alive" though.

… Then I heard the unmistakable strains of RATATAT.I thought,Kid Cudi works with RATATAT!You see, I really like RATATAT. As if the exclamation point didn't make that clear. And if Kid Cudi has the taste and intelligence to secure the participation of RATATAT on his album, I like him even more.

it's dawned on me that i get personally offended when someone claims to like this guy's music
he's probably my least favorite new artist of the past 5 years

I still love him, but that song w/ Kanye from the new album is a piece of shit.

It's a toss-up for me btwn. Kid Cudi and Drake as to worst new hip-hop artist. Though I'm sure if I bothered to listen to the entire Drake album, I'd probably find at least one song I kinda like.
And I did bother listening to the Kid Cudi album and it's a waste of fucking time.
Sooooo... Cudi loses.

drake is 5000 million trillion billion miles better & more tolerable than cudi

cudi's neurosis makes drake's neurosis look like something off 'the sunset tree' or some shit

People really hate Cudi that much? I like him, at least when compared to the horrendous Drake. I mean, Cudi's last album had at least 4 tracks I'd want to hear again in my life - which is 4 more than Drake's.

yeah i mean - they're both awful, don't get me wrong - but i can't hate cudi the way i hate drake. one of my roomates also is a huge cudi stan and i've learned to live with it (even tho i give him shit every time he bumps him), there's even a song with kind of nice production (shame about the rapping). drake is just the worst, satan's representative on the student assembly in the school of rap so to speak

personality-wise cudi is like an enormous, ignorable void while drake bombards you with his punchableness - it's his only quality, really
