just wondering. i always want that song to sound better than it does. never heard it on compact disc.
i should try a euro vinyl pressing.

The Castle remaster does sound cleaner than the vinyl, yes. But don't expect a miracle. There are bootlegs of the original mix floating around somewhere that are reportedly a lot better.
Killer song. Great (looong) Iommi solo.

As long as we're talking about Sab vinyl, did everybody know that Rhino put out a vinyl edition of 'Dehumanizer' (not originally released on vinyl) back in March?
I didn't, until I stumbled upon it at the local record store. Very cool to have.

I have the Castle remaster. It's not bad, but don't be expecting "Aja" or "Dark Side of the Moon", it's still muddy as shit.
Great album though.

xpost - I got the Dehumanizer reissue. Funny story-I went to see Marissa Nadler at an in-store in Portland. Found Dehumanizer while browsing during their set. I was on the fence about the $18.99 price tag when I overheard that Marissa's drummer was about to take a cab to the airport. I said "hey man, is this LP worth cab fare?" He said "yes," bought it for me, and I ran him out to PDX. Win win.

"After All (The Dead)" is such a killer doom track

"it says in a book I once read... YES there's a chance of returning!"
playing the vinyl today and then seeing that fancy gold cd thread made me think that i would actually spring for a cd copy if it was an improvement. it's the only sab album i've ever really had an issue with sound-wise. i mean, it doesn't REALLY bother me or anything. you learn to live with these things. i would definitely buy a u.k. pressing or euro/japanese pressing on vinyl if i saw one though. cuz they are almost always better to begin with.

i'm gonna download the unmixed demos right now. they are all over the web.

I think the muddiness kind of adds to the vibe.
Yeah, some guy here turned me on to those demos. Pretty killer.
