why are we polling the worst song on every album?

why is this happening? maybe we should just stop talking about the beatles albums? idk? challop? it's annoying tho in general (and it's obv not just the beatles)

I like talking about Beatles albums, and polling worst tracks so far seems to be generating more provocative discussion than polling the best.

the threads seem okay i guess but it's kind of disconcerting scrolling down ilm new answers and seeing the word WORST 15+ times

yeah i have no problem w/ doing similar polls or polls about the same artist, and have done so myself many times...but you gotta stagger 'em out, cluttering up New Answers with more than 1 or 2 at a time is just lame.

as i mentioned on one of the beatles threads, i agree with chap that there's more discussion going on when polling the worst tracks, probably because all albums generally have one or two standout best ones that everyone agrees with.

I started the Beatles ones because the Beach Boys polls were fun and everyone's been listening to the Beatles this month.

To get fewer of these polls on the New Answers page, I'll wait until all the current polls close before continuing with Sgt. Pepper.

i don't know how many albums the polls would work well with, but i've enjoyed the beatles threads. i think maybe because considering the records from the standpoint of weak spots instead of "best song" or c/d or whatever, it kind of opens them up critically in a different way.

it worked really well with the beach boys bcz of their tendency to include completely wacko things on almost all their records, some of which were terrible and some weren't

the beatles aren't quite so predictable about it but there's still 'mr moonlight' i guess

The Beatles ones also work because like 90% of the posters know their entire catalog. In a few weeks, when people are starting worst of polls for Grizzly Bear or Black Oak Arkansas, no one will click on them anyway.

These threads are all on the new answers page because people like posting on them. Don't stop making them yet.

It was good when it was the Beach Boys, because there were a lot of entertainingly terrible and WTF Beach Boys songs - obviously I might be saying that because I prefer the Beach Boys, but I just think the Beatles were a bit too professional and disciplined to produce that much nonsense

yeah - I mean, I just look at site new answers, it's still like "oh, now we're doing 'worsts' - guess that'll be the thing for a while" (or maybe permanently - I expected polls to sort of die out, but they didn't). I'm sort of a non-methodical dude so the impulse that says "now that we've had a 'worst song on' thread, we must have them every day for every album forever'" is really foreign to me.
