This album is one of the funniest things I've ever heard, especially the contrast between the perfect female backing vocalists and Dylan's croak. It sounds like it's all he can do to keep it together and not crack up laughing. Next stop: Bob Dylan kids record!

I love (hate) the Lawrence Welk-y arrangements. Instant kitsch. Doesn't make it any good, but its egregiousness is perversely admirable.

Heard this leak last night when I was drink and silly and it was a wonderful and funny experience! I think those are the ideal listening conditions....

wow, "Must Be Santa" is great, kinda like the Pogues! I'm going to be singing this all the time, I can tell.

shockingly I love this album but I'd be cautious who I played it for, because his singing here is kinda like hoppy beer or stinky cheese...not to everyone's taste I think.

This is really beautiful. I love how old it sounds, everything on it sounds like it was recorded in the 60s (except Bob) especially the backing vocal arrangements!

He's so natural he clears his throat while he sings. I'd say it'd make a funny SNL skit, but it's TOO funny for an SNL skit.

What happened to the old thread on this? I tried searching Dylan, Christmas album and only this one came up. Really liked some of the suggested album titles. Much better than the Dee-Lite inspired title, as mentioned upthread.

Just heard "Must Be Santa" yesterday. Bob borrowed/stole the ENTIRE arrangement from Brave Combo's 1991 holiday album "It's Christmas, Man!" and I don't believe BC were credited. Are arrangements not copyrightable?

i'd be surprised if there wasn't a pretty direct connection from Dylan's touring band to Brave Combo. Lotsa Texas type dudes in there.

Saw Low do a Christmas show a couple weeks back and they used this for the house music before and after and during intermission. Made me very happy.

Dylan’s voice works as kind of the anti-Pentatonix of Christmas standards. Also glad he brought in The Ditty Bops.

This year was the first time we made it to the last track.

Not a reflection of the quality, more that we'd swap it for something else usually.
