God almighty, it's Thor!
Thundermug might be the best act ever to emerge from my place of birth (London, Ont), though I'm only familiar with "Africa" and "The Mickey Mouse Club," the former of which I adore. (The Demics are also from London, and good.) I'd love to hear "Banga Banga Humpa Humpa."
I used to love that Battered Wives song -- definitely their catchiest thing. I'm old enough to remember the "controversy" over their name, saw them live right around that time.
Never cared much for Max Webster and don't know those Guess Who, Foot in Coldwater songs.

A guy at work keeps advising me to check out Crowbar. What are they like?

"Behind the Smile" is a beauty. Hidden away too well on the Vancouver Independence comp. maybe my fave Canadian catchy punk song, though the Spys' "Underground" is a winner, too.

Hats off to the pointy guitarsThe bloody logos and the five pointed starsCrank up parental-wince-inducing riffsTo heavy metal may I send my regards
To Slayer, Metal Church and DeicideTo Venom, Carcass, Death and Sacred ReichTo Nuclear Assault and Napalm DeathYour fans are bailing and that just isn't rightHow could you let this happen without a fight
They no longer have hair in their eyesThey will soon be forced to recognizeThat what awaits them is a swift demise
Times change I guess.

I assume you got your answer by now...I only know two songs. Sick of "Oh What a Feeling," but growing up it stood out on the radio. And while I doubt I gave it any thought at the time, "Million Dollar Weekend" was part of a '50s nostalgia wave that was around in the early '70s: American Graffiti, "Eighteen with a Bullet," "Clap for the Wolfman," Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll," etc. It's okay--haven't heard it in years.

Basically like how we're all deeply nostalgic for Matchbox Twenty and Uncle Kracker now.

I don't even remember posting that Crowbar question! Still haven't listened to them.
Without naming names, I'm predicting a wave of reformations of 90s era Canadian indie bands. I know the Rheostatics are playing Massey Hall soon and I think more are gonna follow that.
